  • Retire drivers like worth-equals-output, over-responsibility, perfectionism, and chronic people-pleasing

  • Name moral injury, resentment, and grief; realign action with values to restore integrity

  • Address identity, equity, and power dynamics (e.g., racism, sexism, ableism) that intensify stress

  • Strengthen relationships—delegation, shared load, clean feedback, repair after ruptures

  • Build a recovery plan: time off if needed, phased returns, protected focus time, supports that keep change realistic

  • Rekindle meaning through purpose, creativity, play, and community; consider reshaping a role or planning a thoughtful pivot

  • Coordinate with your family doctor or psychiatrist when sleep, health, or medication conversations would help

The goal is a work and life rhythm that protects health and dignity: clearer boundaries, restored energy, renewed purpose, and a way forward that lasts.
