Grief

Losing a loved one can be one of life’s most difficult and overwhelming experiences.

Grief is not an illness to cure; it is a profound event that changes how the world feels and how life is lived. Our focus is to provide a safe, steady space where you can move through the complex emotions that arise at your pace.

We approach this work with empathy, openness, and care, recognizing that grief is often beyond words. Our presence is a holding space so you can express yourself fully and feel seen in your experience. We listen for what is spoken and unspoken, bear witness to the pain of your loss, and support the gradual work of rebuilding a sense of self that can carry both love and sorrow.

Our team has experience supporting folks with sudden or traumatic loss, including suicide and homicide, which can add layers of anger, shame, confusion, abandonment, loss of trust, or a painful sense of responsibility. These reactions are common in traumatic grief; together we make room for them, reduce isolation, and build ways to cope day to day.

"Grief is not a disorder, a disease, or a sign of weakness. It is an emotional, physical, and spiritual necessity, the price you pay for love."
Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

How we can help:

  • Make space for waves of emotion, including numbness and relief, without judgment

  • Stabilize daily rhythms and strengthen grounding and self-care

  • Work with guilt, blame, and “what if” thoughts

  • Support conversations with family and friends, including talking with children about loss

  • Prepare for anniversaries, triggers, and difficult dates

  • Create personal rituals and continuing bonds, and explore meaning at a pace that feels right

  • Connect with community resources and peer support when helpful

  • Address traumatic stress symptoms when they are part of the grief

There is no timetable for grief. We walk alongside you as you find a way forward, integrating this loss into a life that can hold both remembrance and renewal.
